Day Twenty Seven: Explore
Does your low self esteem stop you from trying new things and exploring possibilities? I know I still get that fear sometimes, that I will be rubbish at a new sport or I will fail at getting that job, so it’s much safer to not bother trying. Unfortunately that sets you off on a vicious cycle of not exploring and then not improving your self-esteem.
To improve confidence in yourself, you (unfortunately!) need to step outside of your safety zone and show yourself that even if you fail or you’re not great at something, it isn’t that bad, and sometimes it’s even fun! That should set you up on a positive cycle of exploring, enjoying and then exploring some more 🙂
So your task is to try something new, something that maybe scares you a little when the opportunity presents itself. I have responded to a work email saying I’ll try Dodgeball, which is terrifying but all in the name of boosting self esteem!
Next, we are open.
