Booster Tip #15: Watch this film

So over the weekend I watched a film that was just wonderful for putting life in perspective. The film is called About Time and it is a Richard Curtis film (who also directs Love Actually, another amazing film!).

about time

The film is about a man who can go back in time. And it’s nothing like Back to the Future… The message in the film is all about making the most of life and the time that has been given to us.

There is an incredibly emotional scene when his dad (who also can travel back in time) gives him a final piece of advice before he passes away… his dad tells him to go back and relive a normal working day, but this time to appreciate it properly. So after a ‘bad day’ he goes back and stops rushing around, stops getting annoyed, has a sense of humour about the challenges and pauses to really appreciate the beautiful moments with his family. He ends the day very happy, despite the day’s events not changing at all.

This shows something – our life is often defined by our attitude to it. There will always be hard times, and sometimes you cannot help but feel negative emotions, but often, with the little challenges in life, if we changed our attitude we would be happier.

It really made me stop and think about my life, my happiness and wasting time speaking to myself so negatively. If you suffer from negative thinking, anxiety, stress, depression etc. I would recommend you watch this film!

PS It’s on Netflix! x
