Often you will have a bad day and have a partner, family member or friend back home that you can talk to and then feel better about your problems.
However, there will be times when you’re feeling low and nobody will be there to lift your spirits. In these moments, you need to be able to lift and support yourself.
Becoming self-sufficient and content with your own company is so important to raising self-esteem. If you know you can cope alone, you will no longer rely so heavily on others. You will spend time with people through a need, rather than a want, and therefore avoid toxic relationships.
So next time you are feeling low or have a problem, don’t run to somebody else… find a sanctuary within yourself instead.
