Boost of the day #25: Ban the negative self-talk


I remember being particular negative about myself one counselling session, and she said to me, ‘would you say that to a friend or your mum?’. It was a real kick up the bum to make me realise how harsh I was being towards myself.

It has always worked for me since this moment to think, ‘what would I say to my friend if she was in this situation?’. This gives you more perspective and makes you a lot less quick to indulge in negative self-talk.
