Sometimes it feels like we’re constantly chasing happiness. Even if you have a great job, family, friends and partner, you may still be thinking about how a bigger house and more money will make you happier. Or if you achieve your goal of having a top job, you’ll still be chasing that next promotion to ‘reach happiness’ and have the perfect life.
Life would feel much easier if we could just appreciate what we have now. Stop chasing happiness and look around you. Don’t stop having goals and aims in life, but try to search for happiness in the present rather than the future.
One method many suggest is when you wake up, to think of three things that you are grateful for. This will hopefully keep you focused on what is bringing you happiness in the present day…
I have a notepad on my bedside table that I will use to write down those 3 things I am grateful for 🙂 Great idea – good start to the day too
