Good evening from Birmingham! If you're suffering with a mental health issue and need a boost, please visit http://www.mind.org.uk. It helped me to understand what was happening and most importantly, that I definitely was not alone. I remember feeling a massive boost knowing that Stephen Fry and Frankie from The Saturdays had suffered from mental health problems, … Continue reading Boost of the day #5

Controlling anxiety attacks before they take hold
I have only had one full-blown anxiety attack and it is definitely something I don't wish to repeat anytime soon. The lack of control is terrifying and it felt like I was being sucked into a black hole and would never see light again (dramatic I know). Since the attack I have had a couple … Continue reading Controlling anxiety attacks before they take hold
Stand your ground! YOU are good enough
Morning from sunny England (finally!), During my daily read of blogs on self-esteem, I came across one which I completely related to so I thought I should share. I have been guilty of putting men I date on a pedestal and I have slowly realised that this will never lead to a healthy relationship, and … Continue reading Stand your ground! YOU are good enough

There Is Happiness In Loving Yourself
This post is so relevant to pursuing a higher self-esteem that I had to reblog! We can be so focused on wanting someone else to love us that we forget the most important relationship of all…the one with ourself.
There’s so much more to life than finding someone who will want you, or being sad over someone who doesn’t. There’s a lot of wonderful time to be spent discovering yourself without hoping someone will fall in love with you along the way, and it doesn’t need to be painful or empty. You need to fill yourself up with love. Not anyone else. Become a whole being on your own. Go on adventures, sit in a coffee shop on your own, dress up for yourself, give to others, smile a lot. Live for yourself and be happy on your own. It isn’t any less beautiful, I promise. — Emery Allen

I am guilty of taking selfies, often on a daily basis, to check how I look. Sometimes I look at my selfie and think, "hey I'm actually … Continue reading Selfie-esteem: good or bad?
My story
I think it's only right that my first post tells the story about my self-esteem so here we go... The past few months have been full of ups and downs. I started a new job in September 2014, after spending £9,000 and studying for a year to change to my 'dream' career. In October, I … Continue reading My story
