Boost of the Day #102: Meryl Streep

I saw this below post on Facebook from Fight For Equality today and it gave me a much needed Monday Motivation boost!

Meryl Streep – this is her on her way home from an audition for King Kong where she was told she was too “ugly” for the part. This was a pivotal moment for the young actress. This one rogue opinion could derail her dreams of becoming an actress or force her to pull herself up by the boot straps and believe in herself. She took a deep breath and said “I’m sorry you think I’m too ugly for your film but you’re just one opinion in a sea of thousands and I’m off to find a kinder tide.” – 18 Academy Awards later –‪#‎manifestyourdreams‬
I love what she said: “I’m sorry you think I’m too ugly for your film but you’re just one opinion in a sea of thousands and I’m off to find a kinder tide.”
It goes to show that even the most successful people have faced challenges and come across negative people. All of us will encounter moments like this in life and it all comes down to how we react to such situations.
So how not to let negative people and opinions knock your confidence? This is when self-esteem becomes so important. You need to believe in yourself and know that you are worth a lot. Once you know this, you are unstoppable because negative opinions may disappoint or hurt you, but deep down you will know you can succeed and you will keep going until you do…
